The Horus table lamp is inspired by a sculpture of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II. Part of the Egyptian art collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the sculpture, dating from 360-343 BCE, testifies to the deep, even fusional, bond between the pharaoh and Horus, the falcon, god of kingship.
