Italian Art Nouveau buffet (Liberty Style) produced by the workshop of the Premiata Fabbrica di Mobili Nicolò Casale in Genoa. Constructed from fine mahogany wood, with distinctly rounded outer corners that give the buffet a soft and fluid profile, typical of high-end Genoese craftsmanship. The two main doors of the cabinet feature stylised vertical floral or botanical marquetry/inlays. The most striking features are the two beautifully cast dark bronze figurative sculptures of putti (cherubs) mounted on the front corner pillars. They support decorative garlands and frame the main body, serving both as structural pilasters and artistic focal points. Fitted with geometric bronze handles and drawer pulls that perfectly complement the wood grain. The piece is crowned with its original thick, heavily veined red/brown marble top. There is a small chip on the corner of the marble top (visible in the photos). A label stamp is marked on the wooden top beneath the marble top. The paper label identifies an antique Italian piece of furniture made by the Premiata Fabbrica di Mobili Nicolò Casale, a respected furniture and upholstery workshop based in Genoa, Italy. In very good condition with a patina and minimal signs of use corresponding to its age (natural wood cracks…). Please check the photos carefully. Showing signs of woodworm, preferably to be treated. Dimensions: width 140 cm x height 99 cm x depth 60 cm. Made in Italy. Period: 1910s/1920s.
