Square rug “Desert Bar, ” designed by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac in 1985, woven in tufted wool. At its center, four feline creatures lean towards a blue oasis, as if captured in a suspended moment. Their slender bodies radiate outwards, their tails spilling beyond the frame, giving the impression that the scene spills into the real world. The surface is tinged with a solar orange, punctuated by black shadows, bursts of yellow, and the depth of a nocturnal blue. A dark border highlights the composition, while the artist's signature is discreetly woven into the weave. A piece with a vibrant presence, to be contemplated on the floor or displayed as a tapestry on the wall. Dimensions: 200 X 200 cm (an additional 45 cm including the overhanging tails). Condition: Patina on the wool acquired over time. Two small, discreet stains and a slight variation in shade in the sandy background. Some soiling on the back. Overall, it remains in good condition.
