Wall lamps with four satin-finished copper shades and a purple lacquered metal structure. Model “S-2021” by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for AB Markaryd, Sweden, 1960s. Designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson in the 1960s for AB Markaryd, the “S-2021” model explores light through a rigorous composition based on the alternation of conical volumes, lacquered metal and reflective surfaces. Each wall lamp is composed of four satin-finished copper truncated-cone shades, arranged vertically and joined at the centre by cylindrical elements fixed to a purple lacquered metal structure. The symmetrical arrangement of the cones creates a clear and distinctive rhythm, while the contrast between the copper and the support strengthens the graphic character of the composition. The shades open both upwards and downwards, directing the light in both directions and producing an indirect illumination that enhances the wall and highlights the shape of the lamps. Even when unlit, the copper surfaces respond to ambient light, emphasising the curvature of the cones and the precision of the composition. Good condition. They may show signs of age.
