Stunning sommerso Murano glass ashtray/catchall designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Murano, Italy, 1970s). Made of brown, yellow and transparent glass. Perfectly works as an ashtray, a vide poche, a catchall or as a display piece on any table. Extremely decorative. Length: 7.5 cm; width: 7.5 cm; height: 5 cm. Good vintage condition. One tiny, barely visible chip (last picture). "Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a transparent layer.
