Art glass bowl from Venice, probably designed by Archimede Seguso for Vetreria Artistica Archimede Seguso around the 1950s. Thick coral red glass with gold leaf decoration and a layer of clear glass. An authentic piece of Murano art glass from the mid-20th century. For centuries, the name Seguso has been associated with the glassmaking art of Murano. Archimede Seguso (1909–1999) is the iconic master glassmaker of the family history in the 20th century. In the 1950s, Archimede reveals his genius with creations such as the Merletto (lace), Reticello Piume (feathers), or Polveri (powdered) series. The collaboration with Tiffany & Co. Offers Seguso new opportunities for large collections. In 1989, Archimede Seguso celebrates his 80th birthday in New York with a solo exhibition — a title that speaks for itself: The Master of the Masters. His exhibitions around the world continue to be immensely successful and are sometimes extended twice.
