Dreamlike statuette of a cherub with crossed hands and a long drape. This 48 cm high statuette comes from a church altarpiece and is in a posture of adoration (probably contemplating a sacred figure) with its hands crossed on its chest and its gaze directed to the side. The face is particularly charming with atypical eyes and a beautiful finish. The hair falls in waves towards the back and the top is cut cleanly (it probably fitted into another piece of the altarpiece at this level). Note the pretty collar of the dress and the left wing still present (unlike the right). The back is cut in an l, to place the statuette on an angle. It bears the scars of its past life but is in excellent general condition and its original patina is particularly luminous, therefore perfect for a modern interior. H: 48 cm. W: 16 cm.
