French Art Deco tea set for two – Turquoise blue

A gorgeous French Art Deco tea set for two, in a beautiful soft turquoise blue with elegant gold details. This is such a lovely little set — and the design is pure Art Deco. The strong geometric shapes, beautifully rounded forms, rectangular handles and touches of gold give it that unmistakable 1920s/30s look. The set includes a generous teapot, a matching milk jug, two cups and two saucers. The soft turquoise-blue colour is particularly beautiful and works wonderfully with the warm gold detailing. The pieces are unmarked, so unfortunately the exact manufacturer cannot be identified. I believe the set is French, and its design is very characteristic of French Art Deco ceramics, but I prefer not to attribute it to a particular maker without a mark or provenance. It is a lovely size for two and would be equally beautiful used for afternoon tea or simply displayed as a decorative Art Deco set. The shape is especially attractive — the teapot and milk jug have wonderfully sculptural geometric handles and a very elegant silhouette. One of the saucers has a small chip on the underside. The gold decoration also shows some gentle wear consistent with age. A very charming example of French Art Deco tableware, with beautiful colour, elegant geometric forms and plenty of vintage character. A wonderful addition to an Art Deco, French vintage or eclectic interior.
