A magnificent Siegfried coffee table by Abraham Sprij in solid oak. Netherlands, 1960s. This round coffee table in solid oak stands out for its very clear and elegant design. The round top is supported by a totem-style base sculpted from solid oak with three tiered legs. The shape of the base, almost inspired by Constantin Brâncuși, differs greatly from the ordinary, making this table very interesting. High quality and heavy execution. This table was purchased in 1966 and comes directly from its first owner. It is in good vintage condition with some signs of wear due to age and use. Sprij Meubelen Abraham Sprij opened his workshop in 1932 in Vlaardingen, Netherlands. After achieving great success with his solid oak Stijlmeubelen, he later opened a factory in Klundert. Sprij Meubelen was one of the first manufacturers of solid oak furniture and a pioneer and visionary in creating a versatile and self-sufficient range of high-quality oak furniture in different styles, similar to Guillerme and Chambron (Votre Maison) in France.
