Portrait of a young English woman

Frontal portrait of a young english woman dressed in a white dress wearing a burgundy-colored hat tied at the neck below her neck, a ribbon of the same color encircles her waist. Lots of grace in this portrait whose frame bears a cartel "john hoppner", english painter and famous portraitist of the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century. Note two labels on the back mentioning john hoppner and the other a sale in 1933 in antwerp. Old relining, cracks on the pictorial layer as well as two small gaps, slight lifting on the background on the left. There are some gaps on the frame. Stock ref 204.
