Robert DAGO (1926-2016) Gouache on paper depicting scenes of life in Saint Martin. Very vibrant and warm colours that characterise the painter. Numbered 32/150 in the bottom left and signed by the artist in the bottom right. In perfect condition. Protected by glass and surrounded by a fine black frame. Total dimensions: Height 71cm x Width 83.5cm x Depth 1.5cm – Dimensions of the gouache alone: Height 53cm x Width 65cm Robert DAGO was born in Paris. A great friend of Michou. Very well-known in Dinard, he painted the mural of the Olympic swimming pool. He gifted the former mayor of Dinard, Marius Mallet, a painting representing the start of the Tour de France in 1990. The canvas is still displayed at the town hall. He notably created a gouache of the striped tents of Dinard, which has since become the emblem of the town. He held numerous exhibitions in Montreal, Las Vegas, New York, Mexico, Paris, Brussels, and Italy. He also created posters for cinemas. He had been living for 25 years on the island of Saint Martin in the Caribbean.
