Fantastic pendant lamp called turbo designed by louis weisdorf and manufactured by lyfa, denmark 1965. This is the original light fro the 1960s, instead of the replica of gubi. This pendant lamp is made of aluminium layers rotated into a turbo. Gives very nice warm light when lit, super spherical and spectacular. The lamp is in very good original and clean condition. Impressed with the lyfa stamp and also marked with lyfa sticker on the inside of the shade. This lamp uses an a 27 bulb up to 100 watt. All our lights are checked, cleaned and are suitable for use in the usa. For us usage you would only have to change the plug or get a holiday converter if needed for a floor or table lamp. Measurements 35x35 cm. Louis weisdorf was born on 29 march 1932 in copenhagen, denmark. He studied at the royal danish academy of fine arts (kunstakademiets arkitektskole) from 1949 to 1954. Louis weisdorf became architect and industrial designer. In the early part of his career, he worked for the renowned danish architects verner panton, poul henningsen and simon henningsen, poul’s son. Weisdorf is best known for his lamp designs, his tiling pattern called fisken and his contribution to the architecture of the amusement park tivoli in copenhagen. His best known lamps include conch, multi-lite, ekko, facet, delfinen, tulipanen and turbo.
