Vintage metal sunburst wall lamp with green glass, 1960s

Black metal sunburst wall lamp with green glass, 1960s. This special wall lamp features a powerful sunburst shape, with black metal rays spreading around the centre like a radiant sun. Thick pieces of pressed light green glass are clamped between the metal elements, creating a beautiful diffuse light effect. In the centre is a dark green rosette glass behind which the lamp sits, providing a nice contrast with the lighter glass and black metal. The design is attributed to Holm Sørensen from the 1960s and also resembles the cast iron candlesticks by Gunnar Ander for Ystad. Whether the lamp is on or off, it is an impressive art object for the wall. When lit, it provides a warm, atmospheric glow; when unlit, it is a sculptural decorative piece with a strong vintage look.
