Chabako box or black lacquer tea box

This lacquer nugget is a traditional tea box made of lacquered wood. This box is round, with a lid decorated with red lacquer, and is covered with several layers of black urushi lacquer. These tea boxes are called chabako. Circa late 19th century. An invisible micro chip on the inner part of the red border of the lid. Everything is in superb condition. Magnificent, refined gift for a collector or tea time lover taken with Japanese class, combining elegance and sobriety; -) Dimensions: 9.5 cm X 4.5 cm high.
