A rare scandinavian rya wall tapestry designed in the 1970s for ege rya, a subsidiary of denmark's prestigious rug manufacturer, ege taepper (label still present). The bold and quirky design shows a colourful, abstract owl with three owlets perched on a branch, in 100% thick wool in lots of different shades of green with bright outlines. In very good vintage condition with strong colours and minimal wear. Rya rugs are traditional scandinavian wool rugs characterised by their shaggy and luxurious pile. These versatile pieces of home decor were used across the board as rugs, bedspreads and wall hangings. Measuring approximately 110 cm in height and 95 cm in width, this is a very beautiful wall hanging. The rug has been shaken, carpet beaten, vacuumed and aired, but a gentle hand wash without soap may be an option (we don't do it). Packed securely and shipped with insurance. Shipping eu 20 €.
