Fantastic antique cushion mirror, also known as a repousse mirror, facet-cut mirror from the latter part of the 19th century, circa 1880, also called the Belle Epoque period, France. The central facet-cut mirror has 4 panels all around in relief, giving this mirror a three-dimensional effect. It has decorative acanthus scrolls, shell-shaped ornaments, flowers and rocaille patterns made of hammered brass, on the original pine base. The result is an elegant and charming mirror with a high collector's value, the brass has a very nice age patina, the original mirror glass is also decoratively spotted and beautifully weathered, which is sought after by real antique lovers. This type of oxidation is often found in very old mirrors and is very desirable.
