The pictorial research of Nevio Bedeschi, originally from Faenza, while remaining essentially linked to figurative canons, offers an expressive language rich in symbolism and transfigurative elements of visible reality, connecting it to other scenarios sometimes drawn from history, sometimes from contemporary events, often related to social issues. In this work, which the artist himself considers an "hypothesis, " Bedeschi draws inspiration from a masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci, The Virgin of the Rocks, to evoke a landscape of rocks and a snowy glimpse of a village in a mountain valley, which he identifies as Bormio, using a quote from Leonardo's Codex Atlanticus: "At the head of the Valtolina are the mountains of Bormi, terrible and always full of snow...". The work is presented in a frame.
