Antique Moustiers style plate, Museums of France edition

Authentic white earthenware plate with a charming hand-painted decoration in ochre-brown tones, representing two stylized birds perched in a tree with soft foliage. The outline is highlighted by an elegant floral decoration, with a slightly wavy rim. Reissue of an 18th century model inspired by Moustier earthenware, hand-painted ochre decoration. "Musées de France" collection: the so-called "Moustiers à décor populaire" style in a naive or rustic register. Some characteristic elements: monochrome ochre/brown on a white background, typical of Provençal decorations, naive birds perched in trees, stylized vegetation, balanced composition and scalloped plate with a wing decorated with scrolls and foliage. Diameter 23.5 cm Good general condition, despite some visible chips on the back of the rim (see photo), without cracks. Soft patina of use.
