Empire period chest of drawers, early 19th century, in flamed mahogany, opening with 7 front drawers, with detached column supports. It rests on cylindrical feet finished with gilded bronze rings. The drawers are fitted with gilded bronze knobs and original lock entries. The piece is topped with a black marble surface. The wood displays beautiful regular flames, typical of the Empire period. The interior is made of light wood (oak), consistent with the era. The back of the piece is old and unrefurbished. Very nice architectural proportions, typical of Parisian furniture from the Consulate/Empire period. Condition: good overall condition of use and preservation. Signs of wear and slight marks of time are visible, with no heavy restoration or structural alteration. Period: Empire, circa 1805–1815. Origin: France. Materials: mahogany, gilded bronze, black marble. An elegant and decorative piece, ideal for a classic or contemporary interior.
