Set of 6 porcelain dessert (or starter) plates, Rosenthal, specially designed by the Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985) for the centenary of the prestigious Rosenthal factory. He was inspired for the occasion by the Bauhaus style and by the architect Walter Gropius, friend of the founder of the porcelain factory, Philipp Rosenthal. The 6 plates are stamped underneath "rosenthal studio line, 100 years, 1879-1980. Very beautiful white porcelain with matte gold patterns in the shape of stylized feathers on 2 satin gilding borders.
