Chair S24 by Pierre Chapo – Solid elm and black leather – 1970

Chair model S24, designed by Pierre Chapo in 1967, combining a solid elm structure with a black leather seat. Particularly representative of Pierre Chapo's work, the S24 model rests on a deliberately legible construction where the joints fully contribute to the design. The slightly inclined backrest posts, the rectangular-section legs, and the visible metal screws give the whole a sober and immediately recognisable architecture. The elm features a beautiful grain and a warm hue acquired over time. The taut black leather seat provides a marked contrast with the wood and maintains a patina of use consistent with its age. Overall vintage condition is good. The structure shows a patina, small marks, abrasions, and signs of use corresponding to its age. The leather also shows signs of use, including some abrasions and visible wear on the edges. These elements are shown in the photographs and contribute to the overall patina.
