This is a wonderful piece of Art Deco tableware. It was purchased in Belgium and the seller claimed that this cheese plate with cloche was made by the famous crystal glass factory in Val Saint Lambert. I can't confirm this with 100% certainty as the item is not marked, but in fact this factory had a lot of unmarked products. It sounds like crystal but I will still say it is glass as again there is no marking. My research shows that butter dishes/cheese dishes in the same shape were made in Dresden by the Brockwitz factory. It is safe to say that this wonderful Art Deco piece with the star pattern on the bottom was made in the years when quality was paramount and this is not a modern mass market knockoff. The item is in excellent condition, there is a small manufacturing bulge of glass inside the top part and a small scratch there, which does not affect the overall appearance and practical use in any way, and is visible only upon close inspection, but I must mention it. Dimensions: Height with handle 13 cm 5.1 inches. Length 19.8 cm 7.5 inches. Width 15 cm 5.9 inches. Weight before packaging 1260 grams.
