About the creator: Sigvard Oscar Fredrik, Prince Bernadotte / Count of Wisborg (7 June 1907 - 4 February 2002), born under that name and known until 1934 as Prince Sigvard of Sweden, Duke of Uppland, was a member of the Swedish royal family and a successful industrial designer by profession. A prince of Sweden from birth, he was excluded from the line of succession in 1934 after marrying a woman of unequal rank. He lost his princely and ducal titles by decision of the King in Council. An excellent industrial designer, Design/One was known for having designed everything from luxurious silver items for Georg Jensen to everyday household items in plastic.
