Set of 13 flat plates MLV France – Art Deco, circa 1930 Elegant set of thirteen flat white porcelain plates, stamped MLV France, dating from the interwar period, around 1930. The border decoration features a particularly graphic polychrome composition, characteristic of the Art Deco decorative vocabulary. A circular frieze combines stylized reddish-orange flowers, adorned with a black and gold center, with bluish foliage in angular shapes. Between these plant motifs, a succession of black triangles and zigzags creates a regular geometric rhythm. A yellow outline highlights the frieze on the basin side. Fine golden threads frame the whole and accentuate the edges of the plates. The gilding, slightly patinated by the years, adds a delicate and warm touch to this very expressive decor. The balance between floral motifs and geometric lines gives this series a unique presence. It creates a characterful table setting, equally appealing in an antique interior or in a more contemporary arrangement. Thirteen plates, thirteen guests: a lovely invitation to extend meals and conversations. Porcelain MLV France. Period: circa 1930. Lot of 13 flat plates.
