Vintage Fornasetti plateau with antique pistols décor – Italian design from the 1960s.

Elegant vintage metal tray decorated with a composition of pistols, rifles, and accessories of antique weapons inspired by historical engravings. The finely detailed black decor unfolds against an ivory background, evoking the world of curiosity cabinets and encyclopaedic plates from the 18th century. Each weapon is reproduced with precision, revealing the delicate hatching characteristic of old engravings. The composition is framed by a graphic border simulating a row of metal rivets, integrated directly into the design. The reverse features a painted metallic finish imitating wood, typical of many decorative trays from the mid-20th century. This type of decor is often associated with the work of Milanese designer Piero Fornasetti, famous for his creations inspired by historical iconography and curiosity cabinets. Both a functional object and a decorative piece, this tray can be used for serving, displayed on a console, or hung on the wall in a vintage interior, an office, or a bar.
