Volcan III mini is a vase inspired by a stay in guatemala, and its many volcanoes. Landforms considered as primordial forces by the ancestral mayan culture. Its raw texture evokes volcanic landscapes. Hand-modeled in black stoneware with large chamotte, unglazed. Clean with clean water. Not waterproof. Suitable for dried flowers or for use with a waterproof container. Each piece is hand-modeled in our workshop in marseille, in the south of france. Each piece is unique and has variations. Nourished by various stays in central america, sophie parachey's work questions the change of scenery, the antagonism of the ancestral and the modern, and the relationship to the living. His pieces are modeled in sandstone or collected earth, which are expressed according to their curves, textures and resonances. Rough or smoothed, they tell together a paradoxical universe. Primary and raw volumes, barely hatched from magma, rub shoulders with softer and more subtle forms. From this astonishing cohabitation seems to be reborn a new balance.
