Table from Jacob and Joseph Kohn, based on a Thonet model.. It was very fashionable in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Millions of copies have been produced industrially. This success is due as much to the refined aesthetics, the solidity and the very advantageous price of these pieces of furniture as to the innovative spirit and visionary marketing sense of its creator, michael thonet. The use of curved wood for the creation of furniture encourages michael thonet to prefer simple shapes, curved, bare and devoid of any ornament. These functional and refined lines, which replace the technique of carved wood of the previous styles, correspond perfectly to the ideas of the very fashionable modernist movement of the " viennese secession ". Our table is in very good condition and is definitely a safe bet, even an investment. Its sober design will easily find its place in every interior style. It is delivered in two parts, the separate base of its tray, the locations for the screws exist but the screws themselves were lost during the trip. Height under tablet: 71 cm.
