Model 879 Space Age Floor Lamp By Erik Van Buijtenen For Nebu, The Netherlands 1970S

Rare model 879 space age floor lamp by erik van buijtenen for nebu, the netherlands, 1970s a rare model 879 floor lamp designed by erik van buijtenen for nebu in the netherlands during the early 1970s. Its tall cylindrical body flows into a dramatic sculptural curve, giving the lamp a distinctive and unmistakably space age appearance. A perspex diffuser is positioned within the lower section, creating a beautiful combination of direct and indirect light. Nebu was founded by erik van buijtenen and existed for only five years, from 1968 until 1973. During this brief period, the company produced a small collection of highly modern plastic furniture and lighting in the bold colours associated with the space age era. The lamp remains in very good and original vintage condition, with almost no surface marks. There is only one tiny nick to the front, which is barely visible. A rare and striking example of experimental dutch design from the early 1970s.
