Windsor American chair, produced by Nichols & Stone, Gardner, Massachusetts, United States. (Stamp under the seat, see photo) Nichols & Stone is considered the oldest American furniture manufacturer still in operation. Known since 1762 as "Nichols Bros Chair Manufactory," the company was already selling chairs made in workshops at that time. It established itself as a factory in 1857 in Gardner, Massachusetts, and has positioned itself for over 150 years as a prestigious supplier of dining room furniture, occasional furniture, bedroom furniture, etc., in terms of design and quality. The Gardner factory closed in 2008 following the acquisition of Nichols & Stone by Stickley, a high-end manufacturer. Chair of excellent quality, made of solid wood and in perfect condition. Original finish in natural wood colour, with some signs of use on the finish (see photos, particularly on the front left leg), which do not affect its sturdiness and may disappear after applying a new coat of stain. (We chose to leave it in its original state; it's a matter of taste!) Dimensions: 44 cm width, 50 cm depth, 90 cm height (backrest). Seat height 43 cm. Very comfortable, versatile use as an office chair, kitchen chair, dining chair, etc.
