Vintage design. Postmodern chaise by the Dutch company Harvink based on a drawing by Ruud Jan Kokke from the 1990s. A postmodern design that plays with form and materiality. The simple frame of the chair consists of a tube with a silver coating. The striking detail of this design lies in the shells of the backrest and seat. Ruud Jan Kokke employs a mimetic design practice by representing leather and elements of leatherwork as a wooden citation. This includes the resolution of the wood into strips, which appear to be wrapped around the tubes of the frame. Additionally, a concave execution of areas suggests the stretching and flexibility of leather. The areas are made from beech plywood. Kokke fully exploits the possibilities of the material.
