Unique cherry wood table from Italy from the 1960s/70s.

1 A finely crafted cherry wood table from the 1960s-1970s, measuring 120 × 74 cm, with a sunray top made up of 16 parts. 2 Sixteen inlaid iconographic motifs—not zodiac signs—adorn the top, while 32 chess pieces surround the underside. 3 Beyond its refined craftsmanship, the piece invites a symbolic reading, with each motif suggesting a hidden message. 4 Together, these elements evoke the metaphor: "Life is a game of chess where the stars write the rules."
