Copper fountain and its basin - beautiful object of the eighteenth century. The vogue of indoor fountains developed in the early eighteenth century, and is a consequence of the use of the fork: instead of washing your hands in a basin presented with its ewer between each dish, it is done before and after the meal. This fashion spread very quickly in the city and in the countryside, and throughout this century, fountains multiplied and were the ornament of almost all interiors. Lower part: 38.5 cm width. 23 cm depth. 19 cm height. Upper part: 33 cm width. 17.5 cm depth. 22 cm height.
