Set of 4 chrome side chairs Bertoia from Knoll, c.1960

This is a set of 4 early, original production black metal side chairs and seat pads designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll in the 50's and produced c.1960. As early models, made prior to production being moved to Italy, they are formed from a thinner gauge wire to the later chairs, conforming to Bertoia's idea of transparency and air, unlike later models. Dimensions (cm, approx): H: 75,5cm. W: 54 D: 51. Condition: Structurally solid and in fair condition for year with several discrete repairs and various surface corrosion most of which can be cleaned off but with some areas of chrome loss.
