Iconic Europhon model 72 (H2) lamp-radio, designed by Adriano Rampoldi in Italy, 1970. A true masterpiece of Italian Space Age design, famously documented in the design bible "The Utopia of All Plastic 1960-1973". This piece is characterised by its highly sought-after bright orange ABS plastic body, paired with a white opal plexiglass dome and an elegant chrome central band. A superb collectible that brings an incredible retro atmosphere. TECHNICAL SHEET & CONDITIONS Designer: Adriano Rampoldi Manufacturer: Europhon (Italy) Period: 1970s / Space Age Dimensions: Height: 21 cm | Base diameter: 15 cm Weight: 1075 g (1.07 kg) Socket: E14 (suitable for modern LED bulbs) Lighting: Fully functional. Both light intensities (soft ambient light and full brightness) work perfectly via the front buttons. Please note a minor intermittent contact, very typical of vintage, only when the lamp is moved while it is on, which is standard for original 1970s electrical components. Radio: The AM radio turns on and emits its original vintage static crackle. Please note that since it operates exclusively on Medium Waves (AM/MW), it does not pick up modern stations due to the permanent cessation of European AM frequencies, which is historically accurate for this collectible piece. Aesthetic condition: Excellent vintage condition. The orange and white plastic components are beautifully shiny, with no bulb burn marks, dents, or significant yellowing. The chrome band is bright and clean.
