Original Arbeitsleuchte Typ 7969, an iconic example of East German (DDR) industrial design from the 1970s. This functional and minimalist desk lamp was produced by VEB Zweckleuchtenbau Dresden (later associated with VEB Leuchtenbau Arnsdorf) and is attributed to designer Klaus Musinowski. It features a rectangular white plastic base with rounded corners, a metal support arm, and an adjustable rectangular lampshade in white plastic (often described as bakelite-like material). Inside the shade sits a cylindrical lamp holder, typically finished in burgundy or black. The adjustable metal arm allows the shade to tilt easily, directing light exactly where needed — making it both practical and visually distinctive.
