Antique silver-plated champagne cooler in the neoclassical empire style with shell handles, shabby chic style. This fine antique silver-plated wine or champagne cooler is the work of the eminent french silversmith ercuis. It dates from the 1930s and is very heavy. This elegant wine cooler features shell handles on the sides and a decorative ring on the bottom. Ercuis, a renowned french silversmith, made silver-plated barware for the dining room and first-class bar of the prestigious ocean liner normandie in the 1930s. Other clients included major hotels on the french riviera and in paris, airlines, and the orient express. A quality, practical and stylish bar accessory that will also look great on display. Condition report: very good vintage condition with minor signs of use consistent with age. Some light surface scratches and light wear. The interior has a dark patina, some staining, marks, and signs of wear. See photos.
