This superb solid oak chest of drawers, dating from the late 18th century, perfectly illustrates the refinement of the Louis XV style. It opens with three drawers adorned with finely chiseled bronze and foliate motifs, in the pure Rococo tradition. The wooden top, molded with an elegant bec de corbin, emphasizes the balance of the curved lines, while the legs end in volutes known as periwinkle feet, typical of this period. Crafted by a master cabinetmaker from the Loire Valley, this chest of drawers demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship. The careful selection of oak, the precision of the joinery, and the delicate proportions reflect the desire to create a piece of furniture that is both solid and harmonious, destined to last. From generation to generation, it has been carefully preserved and maintained, spanning the centuries in remarkable condition. The chest of drawers recently underwent sandblasting, a traditional process that involves blasting a very fine natural abrasive at low pressure. This gentle method cleans the wood thoroughly without damaging it, revealing the beauty of the oak's grain and light color while respecting its original patina. The three drawers have been cleaned and glide perfectly. The set is ready to use and will blend equally well with a classic interior as well as a chic country or contemporary decor. ⸻ 📍 Origin: Loire Valley, France. 🕰️ Period: Late 18th century. 🌳 Wood type: Solid oak. ⚒️ Restoration: Gentle sandblasting and natural wax treatment. 📏 Dimensions: Length 110 cm × Depth 53 cm × Height 91 cm. 📦 Condition: Excellent, ready to use.
