Old sheet with monogram

Large old sheet embroidered with the monogram "cl" by the bride-to-be for her kit. In the countryside, there were only small looms, up to 1 m 05 metres wide. That's why we find sheets with a seam in the middle. They were made of two leeus assembled by a handmade surjet, edge against edge. In poor families, this sheet was often only the only part of the kit brought into the wedding basket. It was of course embroidered, just a monogram, often red, and without a day. In excellent condition, it dresses the bed with freshness and authenticity. Width 210cm. Length 265 cm.
