Greige Set (4) Herman Miller Vintage Original Eames DSW Side Shell Chairs

Some excellent original, Eames side chairs for Herman Miller look fantastic in light greige and sat upon their flattering, used, newer, walnut DSW dowel bases. Greige side shells are a highly coveted colour for the Eames shell chairs and this version is in excellent vintage condition. The Eames shells require little introduction with prototypes beginning in the 1940s, production began in 1950. Arm shells were the first to be produced and the side shells were introduced in 1952/1953. Greige was one of the first colours the original shells was produced in and has proven to be an excellent collector’s piece. The earliest examples are defined by their highly fibrous finish adding an extra depth to the colour of the shell. Individual Characteristics. As a highly coveted colour, these shells are some fantastic examples to own. The chairs do show some natural signs of wear around the edges but are in great vintage condition. The shells display the patent label which indicates they are early Herman Miller examples.
