Shou sugi ban bench

Handcrafted bench made by a craftsman and hand tools. The japanese shou sugi ban method was used to bring out the grain of the wood and thus make the sap rise. This allows for beautiful variations of black and wave effects highlighting the rings of the wood. The lines are very graphic and contemporary. The artist used a mortise and tenon joint; this shou sugi ban method makes the wood rot-proof and uv-resistant. Outdoor use is therefore possible. Can be used as a side table or seat to place books on, a very beautiful unique piece.
