Modular vintage coat rack VIP – Velca, Italy, 1970s

A sculptural silhouette, gleaming chrome, and an astonishing cream head with organic lines: this vintage Velca coat rack embodies Italian design from the 1970s. Published by Velca in Legnano, near Milan, the VIP model is distinguished by its long tubular chrome stem and its upper part made of moulded plastic, designed like a true corolla. Hooks, pegs, and supports are directly integrated into its shape, giving the whole piece the futuristic look typical of Italian Space Age design. However, its most interesting feature lies in its modular construction: the stem is composed of several tubular elements that allow for height adjustment of the coat rack. An ingeniously aesthetic design that can be adapted to your interior or play with proportions. We are fortunate to have two units available, sold individually. When paired, they become particularly graphic: installed side by side at two different heights, they almost form a sculpture and create a true play of volumes. Its circular base ensures good stability while the chrome perfectly complements the slightly patinated cream hue of the upper part.
