Peugeot sewing machine

This sewing machine from 1867 was created by the company constant peugeot-cie, born in 1830, which decided to add to its production of parts for spinning machines, those of sewing machines. Different models are built for lingerie workshops, clothing, embroidery, shoemaking, gloves and for family use. A patent was filed in 1869 placing the coil vertically. In 1876, peugeot sewing machines won a gold medal at the paris world's fair. In 1878, the patent filed for the living room building was the origin of the "cure machine" controlled by a single pedal. From 1920, an electric motor is offered as an option: it will be mounted in series from 1929. Production ceased at the dawn of the second world war with a series ending in 1936.
