Longchamp pipe holder / Carl Aubock / 1950s

Exceptional pipe holder from the 1950s-60s, signed by the famous French luxury brand Longchamp France (gold leaf marking with the galloping horse logo). This iconic model features fluid and organic lines, made of solid gold-plated brass, directly inspired by the modernist and biomorphic work of Carl Aubock's workshop. The brass sculpture, resembling a stylised stirrup, rests on a rigid rectangular base, fully covered in stitched black leather. A high-end, highly decorative desk object, ideal for holding pipes or as a paperweight. Overall in very good condition.
