Pair of bedside tables in walnut and inlaid walnut burl, attributable to Paolo Buffa for La Permanente Mobili Cantù. Italian production, 1940s. Pair of Italian bedside tables from the 1940s, attributable to Paolo Buffa for La Permanente Mobili Cantù. The walnut structure features doors in walnut burl, with symmetrically arranged grain highlighted by a slender, shaped light-colored inlay. The pierced metal handles and metal feet caps add further detail, while moulded frames and rounded corners define the profile of the two pieces. The turned, tapered legs complete a construction characteristic of Italian production of the period, in which Art Deco elements are combined with a progressive simplification of form. Good condition.
