Angel Pazmino's Cotacachi leather armchair in very good condition, with dark leather and a teak frame. The thick leather seat is adorned with an Inca motif engraved into the leather. These motifs vary on almost all of the armchairs. The frame is very robust and, like the leather, shows little sign of wear. All the joints are present and fit perfectly. The Brutalist lines and the simplicity of the construction of these armchairs remain remarkable today. The designer and manufacturer Angel Pazmino is considered a major representative of Andean modernism in the mid-20th century. His chairs and armchairs have been presented to various heads of government around the world. He has since become an icon of furniture design. This armchair was made in Ecuador in the 1960s.
