A Louis Giraud Vallauris vase. Louis Giraud (1897-1985) & Vallauris. Born in 1897, Louis Giraud was a painter and ceramist in Vallauris, where he ran an art pottery producing Art Deco vases. Ovoid earthenware shape. Circa 1942. Painted with ripolin decoration of stylized red flowers on a gold background. Black highlights. Painted signature "l. Giraud - Vallauris." Very good condition, some age-related imperfections visible in the photos. Height 25 cm. Base diameter 9 cm. Neck diameter 9 cm. Rare and chic.
