Ditmar-Urbach Olymp toilet service jug & basin 1940s/50s Czech

Very beautiful toilet set by Ditmar-Urbach model "Olymp", including its jug and matching basin. Rare complete set in exceptional condition: no cracks, no chips, no restoration. Czechoslovakian manufacture, circa 1940–1950. Both pieces bear their Ditmar marking as well as their references under the base. Refined polychrome floral decoration on a black band with black borders. DECOR Very beautiful polychrome floral decoration featuring roses, peonies, and multicoloured flowers, arranged on an elegant decorative band. The set is highlighted by delicate black borders, which perfectly structure the shapes of the jug and basin. The decoration, relatively understated on the ivory background, gives the whole a refined and particularly decorative aesthetic. SHAPES The jug has a very beautiful silhouette, with a generously designed handle and an elegant spout, evoking the shapes of Art Nouveau ceramics while fitting into a decorative production of the 1940s–1950s. The basin, of good size, perfectly complements the jug. EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION Very good state of preservation for an antique set from this period. Any very slight signs of age should be considered normal for a piece that has survived several decades. DIMENSIONS BASIN • Diameter: 33 cm. • Height: 11 cm. JUG • Height: 27 cm. • Diameter: 14 cm. • Width from spout to handle: 24 cm. Weight of the set: approximately 3 kg. EPOCH Czechoslovakia – Ditmar-Urbach – model "Olymp" – circa 1940–1950.
