Joe lounge chair by D’Urbani, De Pas and Lomazzi for Poltronova, Italy 1970s

This beautiful patinated leather 'Joe' lounge chair by De Pas, D’Urbino, Lomazzi for Poltronova is covered in a gorgeous cognac leather. Signed with artist embossed signatures, Poltronova brand logo and 'JOE' embossing. While this is considered a chair, it is large enough to seat two in loveseat fashion – or perfect for one with a cuddly dog or cat. Also deep enough to sink into and enjoy similar to a chaise. 'Joe' is a large and extremely comfortable club chair designed in the form of a monumental baseball glove which is mounted on hidden wheels for easy relocation. The designers, inspired by Pop Art, paid tribute to the legendary American baseball star Joe Di Maggio with a wild exaggeration of scale – transforming the baseball glove into a welcoming place to lounge and a surreal experience of functional modern art to enjoy.
