Adjustable Modernists desk and children's chair - Ets. Levant & Godefroy - design 1950

Very rare desk and its children's chair, typical of the french modernist work of the 1950s, in the spirit of jean prouvé. This height-adjustable desk is signed by établissements levant & godefroy (château-landon). The desk and chair consist of 2 compass legs whose design is reminiscent of jean prouvé. The cast aluminum structure makes it possible to adjust the height with the help of butterfly screws. The solid wood desk top is also tiltable and adjustable. It has a glass inkwell in perfect condition. The seat and back of the chair are made of plywood. Note that one of the uprights of the back of the chair is broken, it was repaired using a screwed curved metal part. Desk height: 66 to 88 cm. Seat height of the chair: 35 to 54 cm.
