Professor Birger Kaipiainen (1915-1988) was one of the most renowned ceramicists in Finland. Kaipiainen's works are characterised by stylised natural subjects, particularly flowers and other animals. For most of his 50-year career, he worked in the artistic department of Arabia. Kaipiainen's colourful, rich, yet refined art led his contemporaries to call him the "prince of ceramics" and the "king of decorators." His most famous works include the Paratiisi series from 1969 by Arabia. Condition: very good with only minimal signs of use. No deep scratches, no cracks, chips, or flea bites.
